After receiving this book from BookSneeze I found myself gazing through the chapters to attempt to gather what this book was further about. It instantly caught my attention after finding that she was making this book relatable to all scenarios women might encounter.
Sheila Walsh divides each chapter with things we can correlate with promises God gives in the Bible. The last chapter was definitely memorable, and after I was finished reading I found myself walking away with insight I hadn't had before about how God uses occurrences, and lives in the Bible to show us he is always with us. The chapters nicely begin with a personal story she shares to show the theme occuring in modern times, and then she uses the rest of the chapter to explain an instance that Biblical characters would have been faced with a similar situation.
I mentioned that as I read I found something relatable about it. I wouldn't say this book is targeted toward my age group of early 20 somethings', but it provides something for everyone.
This book definitely probably works better in a group discussion which it is designed for. Men will also find examples from the Bible that would be insightful for them, but the book is is mainly targeted toward women. Overall this book is a quick, insightful read.
I received this copy of The Shelter of God's Promises from Thomas Nelson in exchange for a review

High Strung String Band is one of the stand out bluegrass bands of Athens, Ga. "They are a terrific bluegrass band," concert promoter, Rich Mullinax said. As I begin talking to the band, they reflect on the day they met each other.
The band says that after overcoming intial inertia they got together, and realized they really enjoyed playing music together. Afterward a band name followed. They wanted something that defined the genre of bluegrass they were playing, and High gets to that "high lonesome" sound of bluegrass.
The major influences of the band icnlude Hot Rize, and Tony Rice. Over time they have found their music evolving to be more like traditional bluegrass. With the addition of their banjo player they have found their music sounding more like bluegrass. The main themes in their music inlude loneliness, moonshine, and love.
The band notes that "Wide Awake" is their favorite song to play live. They believe it is a good merger between newgrass, and traditiotional bluegrass.
