149 of 1001 Albums: Led Zeppelin's Led Zeppelin 1.

History
Led Zeppelin stepped out with this album to begin the emergence of a new music scene called heavy metal. Combining elements of blues and rock, along with each of the members individual contributions they put together something new. Upon the release of this album it was actually met with very negative reviews though commercially it did find a lot of success. It currently sits at #29 on Rolling Stones greatest albums of all time.

My Thoughts
I've always heard someone talking about Led Zeppelin, and if you're a guitar player they are right along with Jimi Hendrix, in bands you hear mentioned all the time. They are pretty essential in that regard. I wasn't too sure apart from the guitar whether I would be able to appreciate the rest of the music, and it turns out that I could! When I heard the singer begin singing I instantly recognized something though. It was the fact that Jack White sounds a lot like him in some regards. Anyways, this was a good first showing from the band. and thankfully enjoyable.

Rating 4 of 5.
